APPLICATIONS

So far a number of applications especially well suited for CDM codes have been identified :

• Anti-forgery: affixing a CDM code label to some goods can be a useful tool to prevent its forgery;
• Traceability in the food industry: CDM codes can be useful tools in tracing the origin of certain goods and providing a quality certification;
• Logistic: marking of the goods to be moved within a warehouse with a CDM code allows one to know their location at any time;
• Security: a CDM code can be applied to credit cards or legal documents as an additional security code;
• Cryptography: coding documents using a CDM code makes it almost impossible to read them without the right decoding software.

CDM codes can be written over different types of materials (paper, cardboard, plastic, etc..) and, with laser coloring techniques, they can also be applied to metal.
